Overview
The Fiancé or Proposed Civil Partner Visa enables an engaged partner of a British citizen or person with settled status to enter the United Kingdom for the purpose of marriage or civil partnership. Eligibility Requirements
- Both partners must be aged 18 or over and intend to marry or register a civil partnership in the UK within six months of arrival.
- Your partner must be a British citizen, person with Indefinite Leave to Remain, or an individual with refugee or humanitarian protection status.
- You must both have met in person and be able to demonstrate a genuine and subsisting relationship.
- You must intend to live together permanently in the UK after marriage or civil partnership.
- You must meet the financial requirement — a minimum annual income of £29,000 (or savings equivalent) unless exempt.
- You must have adequate accommodation for you and any dependants without recourse to public funds.
- You must meet the English language requirement (A1 CEFR level) unless exempt by age or disability.
